Creating a draft order with Cleverific

You can create new draft orders directly with Cleverific, giving you extensive order creation tools all in one place, including product customization. This article will show you how to do this.

Create a new draft order

Steps

1. From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Drafts and click More Actions > New Draft Order.

  1. Add all the necessary information to your draft order.
  2. When you’ve finished working on your new draft order, click Save in the upper right corner.

  1. You will now be redirected to your new draft order.

Note: You can edit draft orders created via Cleverific as many times as needed.

Price decrease in draft orders

Cleverific applies pricing decreases as a line item discount. If you edit a draft order you created using Cleverific again, the discount will be applied via a line item discount.

You may need to remove this line item discount to reflect your edits accurately:

Known Limitations

Not all Cleverific features are available when creating a draft order due to limitations in Shopify’s API. Here are the current known limitations for draft orders in Cleverific:

  • Product and variant titles can't be changed in draft orders.
  • Order numbers can't be changed or assigned.
  • Increasing the product price is not allowed when creating or editing draft orders. However, you can add a line item as a custom product to increase a product’s price.
