Preventing Cleverific from automatically issuing a refund after edits

You can tell Cleverific not to process any refunds by using the Do not issue a refund override when editing an order.

Normally, Cleverific will automatically issue a refund after editing an order if one is due (i.e., the grand total of the edited order is less than the grand total of the original order). However, merchants may not want to issue a refund for various reasons, such as:

  • Refunding via store credit or a gift card
  • Refunding via cash or check
  • Combining orders
  • Splitting orders for split shipments

Enable Do not issue a refund in your editor

This setting should be enabled before saving your changes in Cleverific if you don't want a refund due to be automatically issued.

Steps

  1. In your Shopify order list, open the order you'd like to edit.
  2. On the order page, click More Actions > Edit Order.
  3. Perform your edits.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to find the Settings section and click Edit.
  5. Check the box next to Do not issue a refund.

  1. Click Save.

When you save your edits, Cleverific will not refund the customer even if one is due.

Tip: This setting can be enabled at a store-level in your Cleverific's Advanced Settings accessible in your dashboard.
