Recurring outstanding balance reminders in Klaviyo

With Cleverific, you can automatically remind customers about unpaid order balances using a recurring Klaviyo event. When a customer edits their order in Customer Portal and the edit results in an outstanding balance, Cleverific can fire a "Cleverific Order Outstanding Balance Reminder" event in Klaviyo once every 24 hours until the balance is paid. This article explains how it works and how to set up the flow in Klaviyo.

Note: Before setting this flow in Klaviyo, make sure you have Klaviyo connected in Cleverific > Integrations

How it works

When an order edit in Customer Portal results in an outstanding balance, Cleverific sends a trigger event to Klaviyo. The first event can fire within about 10 minutes of the edit, and Cleverific continues sending one event every 24 hours until:

  • The balance is paid,
  • The order is fulfilled,
  • The order is cancelled.

Your Klaviyo flow listens for this event and sends a reminder email to the customer each time it fires.

When reminders are sent

Set up the reminder flow in Klaviyo

  1. In Klaviyo, create a new Flow.
  2. Set the trigger to Cleverific Order Outstanding Balance Reminder.

  1. Add an Email action to the flow and select your email template. Make sure you disable the "Skip recently emailed profiles" setting.

  1. When you're ready to go live, click Review and turn on. Set the status to Live and click Save.

Once live, Cleverific will fire the reminder event daily for any order with an unresolved outstanding balance.
